The Sentry V Series of DVRs are a full featured and powerful DVR solution suitable for areas where constant video and audio surveillance is critical. Their broad range of features (click on key features to see a list) make these systems suitable for use in a wide variety of applications ranging from homes and small stores to shopping malls, banks and casinos.

They are all-in-one digital security surveillance solutions designed to process video, audio, and data from local and remote networked surveillance environments. Systems can support up to 32 cameras and feature powerful networking and quality transmission that enable remote access to surveillance sites using GeoVision remote applications, handheld devices or Smartphones. This solution is also designed to simplify the integration of Point-of-Sale and central monitoring systems.

*All Sentry V Series DVRs are hybrid capable but the number of connectable IP cameras/video servers is governed by specific rules:

Under software version 8.3+ or later, a combination of up to eight (8) GV IP Cameras and GV Video Servers can be connected to any V Series DVR without any additional hardware, software or cost. The number of connectable analog cameras and video recording speed is determined by the video capture board(s) used. In other words and for example, a Sentry V604 DVR (max. 4 analog cameras and 30fps total recording speed) can have up to an additional eight (8) GV IP cameras attached, displayed and recorded, without additional cost. Beyond eight GV IP Cameras a GV IP license and USB dongle must be purchased. These licenses can be purchased in 4 IP camera blocks – 4, 8, 12, 16, 20, 24, 28.

3 rd party IP cameras supported by the V DVR software can also be attached. 3 rd party cameras do not qualify for free inclusion in the first eight IP cameras. A license and USB dongle must be purchased for 3 rd party IP camera number one. Licenses for 3 rd party cameras can be purchased singly or in multiples of two.

The maximum number of cameras attachable to any V Series DVR is 32, no matter what the configuration. This number can be as large as the number of analog cameras connectable into the DVR ports installed (n) plus a number of IP cameras equal to 32 – n.

Although the maximum camera resolution supported for analog cameras is 720x480 pixels, GV 1.3 megapixel IP cameras can be set to maximum resolution levels of 1920x1080 pixels and will actually record at this resolution (although not display). It is for this reason that recordings of GV IP cameras can be zoomed in to a far higher degree than standard analog camera recordings, before picture degradation begins to take place.
