The GeoVision™ GV800 Series, PCI compatible, add-in video capture cards will process surveillance camera images at up to 120 frames per second(fps). Attached CCTV cameras can be all color, all black and white or a mixture of both. Local server software is Windows™ 98, ME, XP & 2000 compatible. Local and remote versions are provided. The local server software can only be run on one system, while the remote software can be run on an unlimited number of systems. The remote software can be run on computers in a Local Area Network (LAN) using TCP/IP and in remote systems dialing in over a direct modem connection, over high speed lines and/or over the internet. Recording is accomplished when motion is detected in any camera field, at preset times or continuously.

A word of caution: There can be major incompatibilities between video capture cards (DVR cards), their chipsets and/or drivers and the chipsets on computer motherboards. In other words, not all computers are suitable - even extremely powerful and new systems. The incorporation of a GV800 Series video capture card into a non-Professional Security Group computer system should only be attempted by individuals with a very strong technical understanding of computer hardware and software.

A new Geo MPEG4 compression codec provides smaller frame and recorded file sizes than standard MPEG4 or wavelet compression. Remote transmission speeds are also increased with the new Geo MPEG4 codec. Playback of Geo MPEG4 recorded files requires more processor power than similar wavelet compressed recordings and playback quality can be quite choppy unless a computer with processor of sufficient power is used.

    Key Features top
*Now available with Multi-Cam System V7.0 providing users with more powerful management tools including advanced surveillance and search features as well as integration of point-of-sale(POS) systems!

    bullet

    Object Counting
This feature allows you to count the number of objects passing through a pre-defined area by object size, direction of movement or detection area. Counted results are stored in the system log for future reference.

    bullet

    Day-Night Recording Mode
This recording mode allows the use of different recording modes for the same area for up to 4 different time periods within a day. Recording may be set to either “motion detect” or “round-the-clock”.

    bullet

    New Record Log Search Methods:
Object Search: Allows you to specify an area within the field of view of a camera and perform a search for any motion that has occurred within that zone.

Thumbnail Search: One video event is presented frame by frame in the viewer in order to easily determine the start of some action within that whole event log.

Index Search: Search based on certain criteria – eg “motion detection” or “alarm generated”.

    bullet

    Point-of-Sale (POS) Integration
Third-party electronic POS systems may now be integrated into GV series DVRs via the GV-Data Capture device - an external device that transmits POS transaction data to the DVR. Transaction data is superimposed on the video of the selected camera. Video recordings can be searched based on POS transaction events or keywords.

    bullet

    System Log
The System Log is a database of major operational changes. It allows searching by “Motion and Alarm Events”, “General System Events”, “User Login/Logout history”, “Counter Results” (from Object Counting) and “POS Results”. Events can be double clicked to play the associated video.

    bullet

    Central Surveillance by Center V2
Center V2 allows up to 20 GV DVRs to be remotely monitored. Each Center V2 remote system can display up to 320 channels of live video can be displayed in pages of 24 channels per page. Up to 500 Center V2 systems can be served by one Dispatch Server, so that Center V2 will support a video Central Monitoring Station.

    bullet

    New Webcam Multi-function Remote
More useful functions for management of multiple servers (DVRs) is provided through a web-interfaced Webcam application.

    bullet

    Dynamic DNS Support
A new Dynamic DNS service is offered by GeoVision to all V6.0 users. This service provides an easy-to-remember domain to fast locate your DVR with a changed dynamic IP address, by constantly updating the IP address of your DVR to the DNS server. Domain name registration is done in the new DDNS application.

    Other Key Features

Each CCTV camera has its own configuration
Video quality, alarm notification, mask areas, motion detection or continuous recording, motion detection sensitivity, compression mode (Geo MPEG4, MPEG4 or wavelet), smart recording, camera name, camera recording speed and brightness/contrast/hue/saturation can be set in the software for each camera.

    Video Resolution
Camera images can be displayed and recorded in a choice of 640x480, 640x240 or 320x240 pixels. All cameras images must run at the same resolution although this can be changed at any time.

    Display
Live video can be displayed in single camera, full screen format or in selectable multi-camera formats. Switch from a multi-screen format to single camera and back, by a single mouse click on the selected camera view.

    Motion Detection
When motion is detected in a camera field in an unmasked area, recording commences. Recordings are made in video clips which are date and time stamped in a log file. Log files can be stored locally or remotely over a network. We have found the motion detection sensitivity of the  software to be one of the best available.

    Mask Function
Areas of camera fields where motion is to be ignored can be user defined (masked), for each camera. Multiple mask areas per camera are permitted. Areas inside a mask can be cleared.

    Smart Recording
Smart recording can be selected by camera. This enables the full available recording speed to be allocated only to cameras that are actually recording at any particular time.

    Digital Watermarking
Digital watermarking can be selected for recordings. Any recorded video exported from the original hard drive recordings are thus ensured to be unedited. This is a particularly important point when video is to be used as evidence in court.

    Recording Playback
The log files of recorded video clips can be sorted and accessed by year/date/time. Video recordings can be played back while current recording is taking place (recording speeds will slow down). Recordings can be zoomed in/out and moved around the viewing area, on playback. Recordings can be played back at normal speeds, higher speeds, slower speeds or frame by frame. Recordings can be played back by individual camera or all cameras at a time. Switching from multi-camera to single-camera playback is as simple as clicking on a particular camera window while playback is operational. Additional editing features are provided for image sharpening, exporting, adjusting brightness/contrast and printing. Video clips can be exported as .avi files, playable in Microsoft media Player or similar. Individual frames can be exported in many file formats, including .jpg's. Exported video clips can have the date, time and camera name stamped on the video in a choice of colors.

    Communications
Remote communication is supported by dial-up server, web-cam server, TCP/IP server and multicast server. All can be turned on or off with just one mouse click. Compression of transmitted images can be set from remote systems as Geo MPEG4, MPEG4 or JPEG, independent of recording compression of the host system. Geo MPEG4 will provide much faster transmission. New Webcam software allows up to 16 cameras to be viewed on one screen from the same or multiple DVRs. Remote communications with Windows™ CE equipped PDAs now supported with G-View.

    Audio Recording
Up to four channels can be recorded with any GV800 series capture card or up to sixteen audio channels with the addition of the GV-A16 audio capture card (Optional). Recorded audio can be played back in synch with single camera video playback.

    Alarm Notification
A notification of motion detection and recording can be immediately sent to a remote telephone, pager or computer.

    Zoom in/Zoom out
Zoom any one camera in or out by mouse clicks or on playback in single camera or multi-camera playback modes. Camera views zoomed past the limits of the viewing window can be moved around to see any area.

    Storage Capacity
As available disk space runs out, the system will overwrite the video clips with the earliest dates. Recording can be specified for any single hard drive or for multiple drives.
